Driver Watchdog for iPhone: a native preview takes shape.

A custom SwiftUI app, on-device screenshot reading, and reviewed trip drafts mark the next chapter for Driver Watchdog. Here is what the development preview does today.

After a couple of years of work on the Driver Watchdog platform, Hamelton Software has reached a new mobile milestone: a custom, native iPhone development preview. Built with SwiftUI, it brings a focused driving workspace to iPhone and connects to existing Driver Watchdog accounts and records.

A native experience, built for your workday.

The preview includes account sign-in, an overview of recorded work, delivery history and entry, expenses, and shifts. The familiar Driver Watchdog identity carries through the interface and a new app icon.

From a screenshot to a reviewed trip draft.

Choose an offer screenshot from Photos or Files. Apple Vision reads the text on the iPhone and suggests supported details such as offered pay, estimated tips, incentives, mileage, duration, stops, and store information when they are visible. You review the extracted fields before applying them.

Screenshot layouts vary. Missing details still need your input, and calculated values are suggestions to confirm. The screenshot image and raw recognized text are not uploaded as part of this import.

Imported offers can be kept as account-specific drafts on that device. An offer is not a completed delivery: completion and final received pay must be confirmed separately. This keeps offered and received amounts distinct. Local drafts do not sync between devices.

Mileage with a deliberate start and stop.

An optional GPS recorder is included in the development preview. The driver starts and stops recording, reviews the distance, and chooses whether to use it in a record. It is experimental and still needs physical road testing. This is not automatic background offer capture or a transparent overlay on other gig apps.

One platform, a staged mobile rollout.

The web platform remains available today with delivery records, CSV tools, evidence, reports, community features, and subscription plans. The native preview covers a smaller set of tools while development and testing continue; it does not yet include every web feature.

Public mobile rollout remains iPhone first, with Android planned after the iOS release. Neither app is currently published on the App Store or Google Play. Store badges stay disabled until the relevant public release is available.
